Opportunities To Help
As a small nonprofit membership organization, NAMI Mercer relies on the energy and generosity of individuals and community-minded organizations for support. We believe that people who have experienced the pain of mental illness themselves and in their familiy can make use of what they have learned to help others. And so we rely upon volunteers to carry out most of our education, advoacy and support activities.
There are many ways for people and organizations who share our cause to help. Please let us know how you can help too.

Corporate Support
Corporate supporters can always help through direct and in-kind contributions, including materials, supplies and your staff volunteers.
Corporate sponsorships are the foundation of our annual NIGHT OUT WITH NAMI Fundraiser. Our 2005 NIGHT OUT WITH NAMI was scheduled for Sunday January 9 2005 at the College of New Jersey . Pianist and psychiatrist Richard Kogan will perform the music of Tchaikovsky and bring to life how his mental illness affected his music.
In addition to this direct support, you can be a major partner in achieving our goal of improving the lives of people with mental illness and their families. Some ways you can help include:
- Joining our Campaign for Freedom from Stigma by bringing an In Our Own Voice presentation to your company.
- Inviting one of our NAMI family members in to talk with your Human Resources staff and your employees about how mental illness affects families and family life.
- Working with local Mercer County Supported Employment staff helping people with mental illness find, get and keep good jobs.
