Night Out With NAMI a big success!
NAMI Mercer friends and supporters enjoyed a sparkling
NIGHT OUT WITH NAMI on January 11, at The College of New Jersey.
Pianist and psychiatrist Richard Kogan brought
back all our memories of George Gershwin’s incomparable
music with great zest and a profound understanding of this “bad
kid” musician who found his way into the hearts of music
lovers worldwide.
It was a lovely evening, made even more special
by the sumptuous festival of American food that followed the performance.
Guests wandered from one decorative food station to another, helping
themselves to carved beef, shrimp, pecan chicken, chocolate mousse
and créme brulée and other delicacies in no special
order, and without the constraints of one seat, one plate and
one set of dinner companions.
We made something close to $50,000 all told, and
we are truly grateful to all of our supporters for their generosity.
NAMI Mercer will use the money wisely to continue and improve
our service to the families of the mentally ill in Mercer county.
