Social Groups

Man and woman.Just Friends is a peer-managed social group that offers recreational activities for consumers who are 30 years and older. Just Friends is guided by consumers with the support of their families and NAMI Mercer staff. The group, established more than 20 years ago, meets several times a month and provides its members with fun and friendship.

Becoming Friends is a social group that meets bi-monthly with recreational activities for consumers 18 to 30 years old. This group began in 2008 to provide social opportunities for young adult consumers. Activities are usually held on Saturdays; some are held jointly with Just Friends. See Brian discussing it:

 

Boys reading.Just Kids is a socialization group for children under 18 that meets on the 3rd Saturday of each month to provide structured, fun activities. Parents attend all activities. Children with behavioral, emotional or mental disorders are welcome in the group as “just kids.”  Activities are held at the NAMI Mercer Center and at other locations. Please contact NAMI Mercer to inquire about participating in a social support program. The group leader will contact you. All groups are free, but registration is required.
